Here is a video. There is nothing unusual in this video except the banner. Read the line "SAMAST YUVA KURMI KSHATRIYA SAMAJ."
Kurmi caste comes under OBC. Farming has been chief profession of this caste. There are many villages around Seoni inhabited by people of kurmi caste (Sanodiyas). Many Kurmi youths have got government jobs as the result of reservation. We - I also belong to this caste - are getting reservation because we are educationally and socially backward. But the banner seems to suggest that we are no longer backward. Now we all have become Kshatriya.
In my opinion, next time we have any such gathering, we must pass a resolution demanding reclassification of our caste. As we all have become Kshatriya, we must be in General category. We don't need reservation; Our youths now belong to The Warrior Clan. Reservation is for the humble farmer, not for warriors. And if Government doesn't accept our demand, we must be ready to take radical steps to achieve our goal.
This post has a satirical theme. So please take it in a lighter vein.
ReplyDeleteHey Sandeep......Nice try...but don't why it feels like u were very sarcastic while writing this blog......m not sure u r praising the fact that the youth doesn't need any reservation to succeed in life....or just making fun of them .....:P
ReplyDeleteMy aim is not to make fun of anyone. However, I am critical of the tendency to hide one's real identity and take the garb of a different identity. Kurmis are farmers for generations. This is our true identity. We never belonged to KSHTRIYA class ( and I am least bothered about it). Then why this attempt to become what we are not. It only shows underlying inferiority complex in accepting one's reality.
DeleteI am proud to come from a farming community. My forefathers fed humanity ,and my cousins and uncles are doing the same.
And certainly I am not a kshatriya.
And yes, I am sarcastic.
absolutely correct
